2 weeks left in Guatemala. Wow it’s amazing how time flies. This past month and a half has been one of the most amazing experiences I have had. Guatemala is a beautiful country and definitely one I plan on coming back to. I have been apart of one of the most life giving yet extremely heavy ministries here in Mixco, Guatemala. Mixco is not the place you come to when you visit Guate. You will either go to Antigua, Guatemala City or Lake Atitlan. However the time I have spent in Mixco I have met some of the most amazing people who want to give everything they have to serve and love the people here.

The Lord has stretched me in new ways. He has pushed me to step out of my comfort zone in obedience to him, even if it may seem crazy to me. I have been able to share the gospel with complete strangers on the streets of Mixco. I have prayed many bold prayers for the Lord to change the lives and hearts of the people here in Mixco and have seen the evidence with the growth of Casa Iglesias and many people surrendering their life to the Lord. Within all of this, I can see the Lord’s hand at work.

I have seen a new level of people desiring to know Jesus. The people here in Guatemala want to know him because he is all they have. They trust that he is going to provide, protect, and guide. They have no where to turn but to the one that created them. Some days I think about the U.S./back home and how people don’t have this same desire to know Jesus because they are enticed by the things this world offers, that are there one day and gone the next. We have everything we could possibly want at the tip of our fingers. Anything you want, physically or emotionally, there will be something within arms reach. Our time is filled with everything, but the desire to know Jesus and to share Jesus. The things of this world are so temporary, Jesus is eternal. Jesus is the answer to everything. Lonely? Matthew 28:20, he is with you always, even to the end of the age. Hungry? John 6:35, He is the bread of life. Thirsty? He who believes in him will never thirst. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We must have an urgency about our life and our walk with the Lord. We must always be ready for his return, because he is coming back. Are you ready?
