Hey my sweet supporters! Just a little update on life in Costa Rica!

Our ministry host is literally amazing. What a blessing she has been to all of us. Her heart for Jaco is very evident. Currently we are quarantining at our site for a week to make sure we are all good to go! Meanwhile we have been able to serve around the house! Some things we are doing consist of, cleaning out a storage shed, fixing up a park (next door), organizing art and tool sheds as well as painting the inside and outside of the house! One of the things I did was reorganize the tool shed and clean it, so now I manage the tool shed for everyone! (Thanks dad for teaching me what basically every tool is and how to use them! It has come in handy). We have only been here for two and a half days and I feel like we have been able to help out in a tremendous way. Our squad is so willing to just jump in and help wherever. It’s amazing to see everyone use their talents to serve the Lord!

Every morning one of the elders from the local church comes to do devotions with us. He is full of wisdom! It’s so incredible to hear his stories and how the Lord is moving in Jaco. One of the things that stuck out to me in one of his teachings is that we are no longer slaves to sin or this world, we are free. With that, comes obedience to the Lord. I GET to serve the people of Jaco, I GET to minister to people who don’t know Jesus, I GET to do all these things because God’s love has been poured out onto me and now I get to pour it out onto others!

To leave y’all with a funny story… kinda. I was helping out in the park today with picking weeds and such. This guy named Nelson was cutting down trees and helping us out. Most of my other squad mates could understand him and were trying to speak Spanish as well. However… I have taken Spanish 1 three times and pretty much all I know is “hola” and “que”. Nelson was trying to communicate with me multiple times about the work we were doing and I kept telling him I didn’t understand anything he was saying, which he also didn’t understand my responses. After that happened a couple times, he finally told the other girls that I was bad at speaking Spanish. Lol very true. We all laughed and I agreed with him. If y’all could please pray that I learn something other than “hola” and “que” that would be great. Thanks!

Please continue to be in prayer for our squad as we go out and share the gospel with those who have never heard it. Thank you all for the sweet messages and prayers!

More coming soon!
