Wow, Guatemala has amazed me! When I was in Costa Rica, I was really praying that the Lord would put my team and I in a place where we can evangelize and build more relationships that lead to sharing the gospel. He definitely answered my prayer and also answered the prayers of our ministry host!
Ministry here in Guatemala is definitely heavier than I expected but it’s a good kind of heavy. Alex, our ministry host is a man after the heart of God! He loves the people of Mixco and really demonstrates well what it’s like to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
Our time here in Mixco has been sweet. Our weeks are filled with different things, no two weeks are the same! However most of our weeks look like buying food for families and praying over them. We also had the opportunity to pack fortified rice packets with Catalyst Resource International (CRI). This is a non profit organization that builds homes, churches, establishes feeding programs and more while being intentional with sharing the gospel! It is an amazing organization that I will love to be apart of when I get back to the States. One thing I really enjoy is the intentionality behind kids ministry. Alex has done a great job of not just making it all about games but making sure the gospel of Jesus is made known to the kids. This will and has opened up opportunities to reach their families. Alex has also established a great relationship with the police of Mixco. So this week we get to minister to them. God is at work here, lives are being changed and the gospel is penetrating the hearts of the people of Mixco!
Es un honor conocerte Cayce!!
Dios trabaja de maneras increíbles y nos encanta servir junto a ti.
DIOS ES BUENO!!
Cayce,
I have enjoyed reading your posts and hearing what God is doing through you and the ministry. I have been and will continue to pray for you as you serve God by serving others. I’m Jennifer Hembree’s mom and met you at their new lake house when you were visiting with your family. I have been here at their house the last 2 months while recovering from surgery.
Thanks for letting me be a teeny part of what you are doing as I pray for you, the team, and those you are ministering to.
Much love in Jesus.
Mary Cochran
